D’Andrews Bakery & Cafe

D’Andrews Bakery & Café in Nashville is a downtown gem combining French baking flair with Southern soul

Waking up at 1 Hotel Nashville was everything I needed – wonderful, cozy, and above all, relaxing. Even with a schedule to keep, I had one last stop to make, thanks to Ogden’s insistence: breakfast at D’Andrews Bakery & Cafe.

He had warned me that downtown Nashville was hillier than it looked, but I didn’t fully appreciate what he meant until I set out on what I assumed would be a quick walk.

By 9 a.m., I was taking in the sights, sounds, and energy of the city – earning all my morning steps before 10am. The charm of the history beneath my feet made every incline worthwhile.

When I finally arrived at D’Andrews, I knew Ogden had nailed it. The pastry case alone was enough to stop me in my tracks.

After visually devouring everything, I ordered a Fuzzy Popping Peach (White Peach Mousse, Peach Compote, White Chocolate, Almond and “Pop Rocks”).

Rounding out my morning, I enjoyed the D’Andrews House Blend (50% Brazil Villa Pulp Natural, 25% Costa Rica Santa Maria and 25% Honduras Washed with tasting notes of Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut, Muscovado Sugar & Cinnamon).

I also grabbed a Ham Sandwich (maple smoked ham, white cheddar, black popper aioli, pickles, mixed greens with homemade focaccia bread).

Every bite and sip was perfection. The coffee and pastry carried me through my morning routine, and the sandwich lasted me well into the day.

I couldn’t have been more grateful for Ogden’s thoughtful recommendation. It was the sweetest way to wrap up my morning in Nashville, Tennessee.
