Daisy Margarita Bar in Sherman Oaks serves creative margaritas and modern Mexican fare in a fresh take on the classic cantina

Before I knew it, it was time for another dinner with Erik. This time, I chose Daisy Margarita Bar—a place I’d heard good things about and had been wanting to try.

When the night arrived, we met at the bar and were immediately struck by the ambiance. The vibe was lively yet stylish, setting the tone for a great evening.

I started with the MANGONEADA MARGARITA (mango, pastilla mixe chill, derrumbes cenizo, Oaxaca mango brandy, lime, chamoy). Topped with boba, it was playful, unique, and beautifully crafted. Most importantly, it tasted great.

To start, Erik and I shared the SALSAS DE LA CASA (salsa verde, salsa marisquera, salsa negra, tostadas) and the TACO ARABE (flour tortilla, marinated pork, green apple slaw, chipotle salsa, mint).

For my second drink, I order the CREAMSICLE MARGARITA (tangerine, mole, coconut, don fulano reposado, derrumbes salmiana).

This went perfectly with the CARNE ASADA (dry aged strip loin, chiles toreados, confit potatoes).

But what truly elevated the evening was our conversation with Max, the cocktail director and one of the restaurant’s owners. Hearing him break down the science and technique behind their drink program was fascinating. He spoke about infusions, sous vide processes, and precision tools with the passion of an artist and the mind of a scientist. Even Erik’s drink, which featured purple cabbage, had been emulsified at a molecular level to extract its vibrant hue and flavor. Max was magnetic and genuinely inspiring.

That’s what made my night at Daisy Margarita Bar unforgettable. Just like its sister restaurant, Mírate, it blended creativity, craftsmanship, and hospitality into something special.
