There’s something endlessly exciting about making a new friend abroad – and then reuniting months later in an entirely different city. When I first met Ogden in Mexico City, I never imagined that not long after, we’d be meeting again – this time in Nashville.
When I arrived to Chopper, I was enthralled by the fun atmosphere. Plus, saying hello and hugging Ogden felt like only months had passed.
Looking around Chopper, I was delighted. The vibe was right, the energy was perfect and it was lovely to meet in such a unique space.
Browsing the menu, I realized that I wanted a drink and a show: something to set on fire and sip in delight. So, I ordered the ROBO ZOMBIE (Jamaican and Overproof Rums, Falernum, Pineapple, Lime, Lemon, Cinnamon, Fassionola, and Bitters).
When it arrived, it didn’t disappoint. The bartender set the cocktail ablaze, and sparks of cinnamon flared dramatically before the flame softened into a gentle glow. It was everything I wanted. It was a spectacle in a tiki mug.
When I tasted it for the first time, I was satisfied. It was delicious.
As Ogden and I sipped our cocktails and mapped out the rest of our evening, I couldn’t help but feel happy we started at Chopper. The pre dinner drinks were perfect and just the right kickoff for the night ahead.
