After experiencing so much of Morocco’s diverse landscapes during A 10 Day Moroccan Adventure with Kim Larkin Adventures, we finally arrived at our last riad: Riad Siwan in Marrakesh. The stay was exactly what my travel weary body needed. It was relaxing, comfortable, and deeply restorative. And the food, served in an intimate and elegantly designed riad setting, was every bit as delicious as it was beautifully presented.

Dinner
Our first dinner at Riad Siwan Marrakesh was a refined and beautifully appointed arrangement on the upstairs terrance.

First out, was a beautifully smooth and creamy Pumpkin soup. Unlike the soup at L’Ma Lodge Skoura - which was delicious as well - this soup was a bit thinner. Which I loved. It was such a small difference. But, definitely noticeable.

The main course? A brilliant Fish tagine of dorado (mahi mahi). After having such intense flavors of lamb, goat, chicken and beef tagine throughout the regions of Morocco, the fish was a refreshing change of course.

To finish the meal, we were served bowls of vanilla ice cream on top of whipped avocado.

This. Was. Brilliant.
The creaminess of the avocado was a refreshing balance to the delicious nature of the ice cream.
Breakfast
Breakfast during the second day was a rather quick affair, as I had to scarf food down in time for Walking the Streets of Marrakesh: the Medina, Dar El Basha, Madrasa Ben Youssef and more with Soufiane Adnane. So, I delighted in the Cornbread cake, Fruit Salad (Mango, kiwi, raspberry) as other people had Eggs.

2nd Dinner
Our second dinner at Riad Siwan was a beautiful cooking class affair.

The star shaped Zaalouk was absolutely delicious. The eggplant – with a little bit of salt – was as delicious as it was pretty. I loved the shape of it.

The Briouates was absolutely delicious. With each bite, I felt the combined efforts of our group to make and fill each shape.
The main course of the evening Beef Tangine with walnuts and plums was – incredible. Especially, because it was cooked with Fran’s assistance in the kitchen.

For desert, we had poached pears with vanilla ice cream. I mean, could there be a better way to round out such a delicious dinner? I think not.

2nd Breakfast
My last breakfast at Riad Siwan was a rather low key affair. I enjoyed yogurt, fresh orange juice, cornbread cake and a crepe with apricot preserves while I drank coffee and reflected on the journey.

Truly, my meals at Riad Siwan were a satisfying end to my incredible days in Morocco.
