Some would say that sex is the best way to finish out the final day of the year. Yeah, that’s great. For me, it’s social cocktails and conversation and ending the night cozy and snuggled up at home. So, when Sara happened to be free, I immediately suggested that we meet at Bar Sinizki in Atwater Village.
Once Sara and I met up and were led to our table, I immediately was thankful for how everything worked out. Bar Sinizki was the perfect place for cocktails, laughter and friendship.
First off, the bar was absolutely gorgeous inside. It gave me strong European bistro vibes and satisfied my longing for Paris.
We both ordered AVIATION (Dead of Night Dry Gin, Lemon Juice, Maraschino Liqueur, Creme de Violette) cocktails.
This was the most excellent cocktail I’ve had in 2024. It was absolute perfection.
Sara and I opted to split the KIELBASA (Caraway Braised Cabbage, Dijon, Alpine Bread) with the SIDE OF FRIES.
Later, I ordered the CARAJILLO (Espresso, La Tierra de Acre Espadin Mezcal, Licor 43, St. George Nola Coffee Liqueur).
Now, I did have my first Carajillo at Jams at 1 Hotel Central Park. My sip of Bar Sinizki’s version of the cocktail formally solidified it as one of my favorites.
Before we knew it, the hours had slipped away. As we sipped the last of our cocktails and reminisced about our friendship and the journey we’ve shared over the years, I couldn’t help but feel deeply grateful for that fateful meeting back in 4th grade. After kids, weddings, and decades of shared memories, our final hug of 2024 felt absolutely profound.
Truly, deeply and from the fullness of my heart – after the loss of my mother – I am happy.
