Bacari Sherman Oaks is the perfect "don't wanna cook? Let's just go out" spot in Sherman Oaks, California

Now, I must admit – when I first heard about Bacari opening a Sherman Oaks location from my facialist, the wonderful Stepheny at Flowrbombr Skincare.  Since I saw my friends Chris and Jeff post about their experience, I was determined to visit.

I’ve since… been a lot. It’s one of my favorite “I don’t wanna cook, let’s go out” spots.

During happy hour (and this is a legit happy hour that only lasts for one hour, exactly) with Hilary, we shared the:

BACARI FRIES (chef’s “bcn” sauce, without the fried egg)

MUSSELS (pilpelchuma butter, crushed tomato, toasted baguette)

BACON & DOUBLE CREAM BRIE PIZZA (organic tomato sauce, fresh jalapeño)

SEA BASS (pan seared, charred shishito pepper & corn, tarragon aioli, pomegranate molasses, grilled lemon)

SHRIMP CEVICHE (fennel aguachile, heirloom cherry tomato, cucumber, za’atar, sumac, lime chili chips)

THE BEST CAKE (medjool dates, brown sugar caramel, crispy bacon) – Which was savory, sweet and damn delicious.

Over the course of previous visits, I’ve tried:

HOUSE BAKED BAGUETTE (with garlic olive oil)

GLAZED PORK BELLY (umami mulling glaze, sesame seed, lemon, scallion, cilantro)

CHEF’S SALMON (pan seared, walnut crust, garlic & herb bulgar, parsley)

LITTLE GEMS (pickled fennel, pita crouton, tarragon, parmesan vinaigrette)

PORK CHOP (pan seared, caramelized pearl onion, parmesan & garlic corn flake, cilantro creme-fraiche, aleppo oil)

BRUSSELS SPROUTS (caramelized, pomegranate molasses, creme fraiche, red beet)

And I rediscovered how much I enjoy gin martinis (Thanks, Vox Cigar Bar at the Grand Hyatt Berlin!).

All of my meals at Bacari Sherman Oaks have been fantastic.

It’s the perfect spot for time with friends or someone special. I love the ambiance and most importantly, the food.
