It was later in the day when Kyle and I made plans for a last minute meet up and chat. I originally thought that we could get an early afternoon cozy matcha. However, as each of our plans pushed our time further and further from evening in to night, that desire ended up changing.
During the course of the day, I had an idea - why don’t we met at Augustine Wine Bar? Augustine Wine Bar is an incredible wine bar. It reminded me of my favorite wine bar, Bar Covell. I hadn’t been back in years. Namely, not since the space was rebuilt after the devastating fire. I then texted Kyle and awaited for a response. When Kyle texted back “sure”, I was excited to confirm.
Augustine Wine Bar was just as cozy and beautiful as I remembered it. Arriving before Kyle, I easily found a booth for us to take up space in.
Once Kyle arrived, we browsed the menu.
Standing at the bar, I mentioned to the bartender that I was looking for something well rounded and beautiful on the mouth. After a taste, Kyle and I both ordered glasses of ROOTS RUN DEEP WINERY’s 2021 “HYPOTHESIS”, a Pinot Noir wine from Santa Rita Hills.
As we chased out plans and our upcoming event schedule, I was exceptionally happy to do so in the relaxed refinement of a Augustine Wine Bar. Truly, it’s a space that will always be dear to my heart as the best wine bar in the San Fernando Valley.
