After an eight hour journey from Fes to the Sahara – filled with stops in Ifrane, the cedar forests, Berber cultural sites, and a memorable lunch with a nomadic family, we arrived at Riad Serai completely ready for comfort, and it exceeded every expectation.
From the moment I stepped out of the van, the beautifully fragrant indoor space, thoughtful decor, and smooth check in set the tone for true desert luxury. My single room, Almond, immediately washed away the fatigue of the long ride, offering calm, cleanliness, and visual serenity. Best of all, every meal at the riad was delicious and among the best I had in Morocco

Dinner
For dinner our first night, I devoured the Cheese and potato cheese cup.

The next course was a scrumptious Vegetable soup.

For our main course, we were served Cubed Beef with coconut sauce topped with prunes and apricot. Again, delicious.

For dessert, we each were served Flan.

Breakfast
Breakfast was a quick affair, as I had to finish packing and get to my Riding 4×4 Quad Bikes on the Sahara with Merzouga Trails Quads & Buggy Excursion experience. However, I enjoyed the various versions of pancakes, breads and toppings provided.

Lunch
The next day, after the Merzouga Trails Quads & Buggy Excursion experience, I wanted to rest and write. As the group went to a musical performance and lunch, I decided to stay back at Riad Serai for lunch. I ordered the Menu B (Salade, Tagine de Kefta, Dessert) with a giant bottle of bottled water. As I dashed the shakers of cumin, salt and pepper onto my beef, all I could do was be in a state of happy pleasure. My chocolate pudding desert was a fitting completion to my lunch. It was all delicious.

Truly, my time at Riad Serai was deliciously well spent – in quality of sleep, ambiance and food.
