During our delicious breakfast at Board and Drink, Margaret had a fantastic idea.
“Want to get on the ferris wheel with me?”
Honestly, when I think of San Francisco, I don’t think of Ferris wheels. But, apparently, San Francisco has one. And I was going to get on it.
As we walked along Fisherman’s Wharf, walked past the original spot for Irish Coffee, Buena Vista Cafe which I’d enjoyed a decade earlier during a previous visit.

Margaret also led me to the newly relocated location of Umbrella Alley – an outdoor artist experience.

Watching the vintage San Francisco trolley cars turn around at their terminus was vintage cool.

Pretty soon, our walk led us to the SkyStar Ferris Wheel.

Margaret waited until we were secured in, with the door closed, to tell me she had a fear of heights. Immediately, I started laughing. Of all the times to tell someone they have a fear of heights – and she was the one that suggested it!
So, I tasked myself with taking photos of our experience and of the different viewpoints of San Francisco and the Bay from the top of the gondola.

Originally, when I asked the operator how long the ride was – he said 8 minutes for about 3 rotations. However, while we were in the gondola, it felt more like 10 minutes and 4 rotations of the wheel.

When the ride was complete, we exited back safely on flat land.
With a hug, Margaret thanked me for saying yes to her offer of fun. And I absolutely loved seeing San Francisco and the Bay from a new perspective.
