There are some days that are just… hard. So when I glanced at my calendar and saw a dinner with Sara at Mirabelle Wine Bar to celebrate her birthday, I felt an instant lift. For one evening, I could set aside the weight of my worries and sink into the comfort of friendship.

Mirabelle Wine Bar turned out to be a hidden gem – an unassuming treasure tucked away in Valley Village. Dining with Sara felt like stepping into an oasis, a little slice of France that offered the serenity of a mini vacation.
After catching up on life and laughter, we turned our attention to the menu.

We began with the STRIPED BASS CEVICHE (yellow corn tostadas, coconut pasilla crema, sweet ‘n spicy peanuts, market veggies). The first bite was enough to make my shoulders drop and my mind quiet. It was exactly what I needed.

Next up was the SPAGHETTI AI FUNGHI (marinara, maitakes, garlic confit, basil parm, chili flakes), which was absolutely delicious. The taste was Earthy, fragrant, and full of depth.

When the AUTONOMY FARMS HANGER STEAK (shishito chimichurri, cowboy butter, crispy fingerlings) arrived alongside the KENNEBEC FRITES (ketchup, truffle aioli) it was love at first bite. Together, they felt like a shared reward for making it through the week.

To celebrate Sara, we shared a DARK CHOCOLATE CREME BRULEE (candied walnuts, market berries). It was rich, elegant, and the sweetest ending to the night.

Truly, some of the best times in life are when you can be honest, open and emotional with a friend and they listen, understand and appreciate you.
And for anyone who’s ever lost years of photography or data on external drives: learn from my experience. Don’t waste time or money on bargain recovery services. Sometimes, it really is worth paying for quality.
