After a full day exploring the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and capping it off with dinner at Doc Crow’s Southern Smokehouse and Raw Bar, all I wanted to do was unwind. When I returned to the Hotel Bourre Bonne Louisville, Curio Collection, I had one simple plan: to write, sip a good bourbon, and take in the city lights of Louisville.
I grabbed my laptop, took the elevator up to The Rooftop, and found a quiet spot with a perfect view. The night air was warm, the atmosphere calm, and for the first time all day, I could breathe.
I told myself I’d write. But instead, I ended up sending memes to friends, laughing and stuff on my phone, and sharing an easy, genuine conversation with my server.
Sometimes, that’s exactly the kind of rest I need.
For my nightcap, she recommended a pour of the BARDSTOWN BOURBON COMPANY’s Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon.

For dessert, I chose simple indulgence: a cup of Vanilla Ice cream with a half pour of Larceny’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey from Heaven Hill Distillery, known for its small-batch, wheated mash bill.
It was the perfect ending to a long, day – sweet, slow, and distinctly Kentucky.
